Terms of service

Last updated: 26 September 2026

Draft — this document has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change before launch.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These terms govern a school's use of the SchoolTrendz platform (app.schooltrendz.com) and this website (schooltrendz.com). By registering a school, signing in, or otherwise using SchoolTrendz, the school and the person registering on its behalf agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't register or use the platform, and contact us instead so we can help.

2. Who we are

SchoolTrendz is operated by SchoolTrendz To be confirmed: our registered company name, type and address . We refer to ourselves as "we", "us" or "our" throughout, and to a school that registers on the platform as "you" or "the school".

3. What SchoolTrendz is (and isn't yet)

SchoolTrendz is a school management platform: one web application covering admissions, attendance, academics, exams and results, fees and accounting, payroll, library, transport, hostel, front office, communication, certificates, reports and a free public website for the school. It works in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer — it is not a native mobile app, and there is nothing to download or install.

SchoolTrendz is currently in early access. That means the product is built and tested, but some pieces are still being switched on for live use:

  • The AI assistant (early access) answers questions within a user's permissions; it is built and tested but not yet switched on for live use.
  • Online fee payment works through a secure hosted checkout, with the payment gateway itself connected at launch.
  • E-mail and SMS delivery of notices and reminders is built, with the sending provider connected at launch; in-app notifications work today.

Because we are still in early access, features and this early-access status itself may change as we move towards general availability, and we will try to give schools reasonable notice of anything that affects them.

4. Accounts and school admin responsibility

When a school registers, an administrator account is created for it. The school is responsible for:

  • keeping its administrators' sign-in details confidential, and for anything done under an account it has issued;
  • deciding which staff, students and parents get accounts, and what role each one holds;
  • the accuracy of the data it enters, and for obtaining any consents it needs from parents, students and staff for how that data is used;
  • configuring role permissions sensibly — SchoolTrendz enforces guardrails (for example, parents and students can never be given cash-payment rights), but day-to-day configuration is the school's call.

We recommend schools turn on two-step sign-in for administrator and accountant accounts.

5. Acceptable use

When using SchoolTrendz, a school and its users agree not to:

  • use the platform for any unlawful purpose, or to store or send content that is unlawful, defamatory or infringes someone else's rights;
  • try to gain access to another school's data, or to any account, area or data outside what their role permits;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload or probe the platform's security other than through our responsible disclosure process;
  • copy, reverse-engineer or resell the software itself (as opposed to using it to run a school).

6. Free of charge

SchoolTrendz is currently provided free of charge to every school that registers — no card is needed.

To be confirmed: the exact wording the founder and our lawyer want here once this is finalised. If paid features are ever introduced in future, we will give schools advance notice before that happens, and nothing will be charged to a school without that school's agreement.

7. Early-access features

Because SchoolTrendz is in early access, features described as early access (currently the AI assistant, and the live connection of payment gateways and e-mail/SMS delivery) may change, be temporarily unavailable, or be adjusted based on what we learn from pilot schools.

8. Your school's data

The school owns the data it enters into SchoolTrendz — student, staff, fee, attendance and all other records. We process that data only to provide the service, as set out in our privacy policy and data-processing terms. A school can export its records as CSV at any time from within the platform, and can ask us for help exporting everything if it decides to leave.

9. Availability

We work to keep SchoolTrendz available and responsive, and we design our infrastructure with that in mind (see our security page). During early access, we do not make a specific uptime promise or service-level commitment. We will let schools know about planned maintenance where we reasonably can.

10. Suspension

We may suspend a school's access — showing that school's users a clear message explaining why — if, for example, its account has clearly been used to breach these terms, or we reasonably believe suspension is needed to protect the platform or other schools. Where practical, we will try to warn a school first and give it a chance to put things right.

11. Termination and getting your data back

A school may stop using SchoolTrendz at any time. Either the school or we may end the arrangement, for example if these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached. When an account ends, we will help the school export its data, and we will delete or return remaining data in line with our data-processing terms, subject to any legal requirement to keep certain records for longer.

12. Liability

SchoolTrendz is provided free of charge, on an "as is, early access" basis. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and, because the service is provided free of charge, our total liability to a school under these terms is limited to a reasonable nominal amount. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as liability for fraud.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of To be confirmed: the city whose courts will have jurisdiction , India.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as SchoolTrendz moves from early access towards general availability, or as the law requires. We will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page whenever we do, and we will try to give schools reasonable notice of any change that meaningfully affects them.

15. Contact us

Please use our contact page — we read every message ourselves.
